Learn Jobs to Be Done and start applying it in your work today. Using our JTBD Hypothesis Canvas, this 3 session workshop will take you through the entire JTBD process, showing you how to use it in your work and see the benefits of customer alignment in your organization.

This mini-course combines live lectures and team activities with self-paced work. Our live sessions will be supplemented with thinking prompts, readings and online conversations throughout the course.

Day 1 - Monday: Researching the Job

  • Scoping jobs review

  • Finding Jobs: Interviewing

  • Data gathering and analysis

  • Assignment 1: extracting job steps & interview practice


Day 2 - Wednesday: Finding Opportunities with a Job Map

  • Assignment debrief

  • Assignment 2: extracting outcomes, emotional jobs, circumstances and readings


Day 3 - Friday: Using Jobs to Be Done in your deliverables

  • Assignment debrief

After the workshop you should be able to...


  • Scope a main job, conduct jobs interviews, and extract key elements of JTBD
  • Build a valid job map based on research
  • Use a job map to facilitate conversations with your team to agree on opportunities to pursue together
  • How to integrate your work into other methods and processes, like Design Thinking, Lean, and Agile
